Welcome back! It's been a few months, but let's get right to it: there were some very silly takes this week.
This week is a little shorter – I didn’t find as many eminently Silly Takes, and I didn’t receive that many, either, so we’re just gonna spend a little bit of time with two Silly Takes before moving on to next week.
Three weeks going! I’m already beating the odds I gave myself in my description of this project.
Last week was a busy week for Internet Writers, between MLK Day, Trump’s inauguration, and, of course, the U.S. premiere of the first episode of The Young Pope.
(Yes, it’s a day late. I was sick). I was worried when I started this project that I wouldn’t have any good Silly Takes for my first week. I needn’t have worried. This was a good week for Silly Takes.
Every week, articles show up on my social media feeds. Some of these articles enrich my understanding of the world by teaching me something new or forcing me to look at the universe in a different way. Most are fine, or at least utterly unobjectionable. Some of them enrich my understanding of the world in a different way: by revealing to me that no idea on Earth is too ridiculous for an Internet writer to present it seriously in an article for a semi-respectable publication. This project is dedicated to that third kind. This project is dedicated to the Silly Takes.
